1:52 am - 04.08.2005 I'm going to France. For a decade, I told myself and others that one of the places I will visit in my life will be France, specifically Nice. And in the past year, I've become hooked on the World Rally Championship, which holds one of its races in Monte Carlo, minutes from Nice. Now, I'm going. A girl I know has been going to school in Paris, and she made me realize a fundamental truth in life: you only live it once. We have always heard that phrase, and we all understand what it means, but not everyone has been able to apply it to themselves. I'm 26 years old, I have a job with responsibilities, a home that needs taking care of, and a whole life to run on my own... but that day I said fuck it all. I'm taking a week's vacation and continuing my life's quest. I also said one day I will live in France, or perhaps Monaco or Monte Carlo, and again I will make a claim that some day I will. I'm going to where I've always wanted to go, in the most romantic place in the world, with a cute girl to boot. There will be pictures, stories, and writings to come. I'm actually going... This. Is.
